Biography
Soomin is a physician assistant who was originally born and raised in South Korea. She came to the United States for the first time in her teen years to attend high school. She has made northern states her home in the last 20 years by attending high school in Vermont, obtaining in 2014 a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies at Springfield College in Massachusetts, and practicing the majority of her career as a primary care provider in northern Michigan.
In the last 10 years of her career as a primary care provider practicing in an underserved area, she realized her passion and heart for women’s health, especially going through the birth of her two children. Additionally, given a rural health setting, she was able to practice an expansive array of women’s health management. This again led her to find her niche in women’s health even more. During a recent vacation to Texas, she happened to stay in San Antonio, and all of her family fell in love with the city and decided to walk through the open door of relocating her career and their home.
Aside from giving all to her patients, Soomin is also passionate about being a wife and a mom to her two young children, Anakate and Thomas. In the midst of raising these two amazing five and three year old, she enjoys walking, reading, cooking, and entertaining. She is also looking forward to doing all that she loves without freezing now!
