However, less than 24 hours before my scheduled surgery, Methodist Hospital, where the Seven Oaks physician was to perform the procedure, unexpectedly sent me a bill for $2,900 without any explanation or itemized charges. This was the first time I was notified of this amount. I immediately spent the remainder of the business day contacting Methodist Hospital, Seven Oaks, and my insurance company to obtain an explanation. My insurance advised that my expected responsibility should have been approximately $200 for the surgeon, a $250 outpatient facility fee, and applicable anesthesia charges\u2014not a $2,900 upfront payment. Unfortunately, no one at the hospital or Seven Oaks could explain the charge before their offices closed. Because I could not make an informed financial decision without an explanation of the unexpected charge, I had no choice but to cancel my surgery less than 24 hours before the procedure. For good reason - the doctors are good, the building is nice, and they take good care of you. 1. My main complaint with Seven Oaks is the wait time. You will wait at a minimum 1 hour before seeing a doctor - and this is the very best case scenario. Yesterday I waited 2+ hours before seeing my doctor. When you are taking time off from work, this can be frustrating. I wish they would hire more OBs, but also more PAs to help handle the load of patients. This is my third pregnancy and this has been a constant problem with the practice. They will also try to schedule you for their Boerne location, which is an incredibly far drive for some. 2. I learned yesterday that they changed their policy. When you go into labor or have an induction, the Seven Oaks doctor on call at Methodist will now handle your delivery - NOT your doctor. Not your doctor whom you've met with for 9 months, built trust with, knows your birth plan...not your doctor, but the random doctor on call at Methodist. I am delivering in about 3+ weeks and was told this yesterday. To be very clear - I really like my doctor and trust her. She is the only reason I go to Seven Oaks. But, unless she is on call and I schedule an induction for her call time AND the baby decides to come WHILE she is on call, I won't have her deliver my baby. I am sure the practice is trying to be more efficient by doing this and save patients time at the office. However, I still waited 2+ hours at the office to be seen, so I'm not sure there is winning on either side of this for the patient. Every single time I\u2019ve had one they have me waiting in the room butt naked gowned up waiting for the Np or Dr for at least an hour. My last appointment I was seen by Neely NP first time meeting her and it wasn\u2019t  great she kept leaving the room to take a phone call after I had already been waiting in the room for like an hour. It was so unprofessional and it made me feel like I didn\u2019t matter as a patient. From what I understand she was going to prescribe me something but she never did. She just seem like all over the place honestly. They had me schedule a follow up appointment at the medical center since it\u2019s closer to where I live and the earliest was two months out. My appointment was finally near and they canceled it out of nowhere. So now I have to wait longer to go over my lab results. I recommend going anywhere else besides seven oaks. They make you wait forever to be seen and I\u2019ve never been treated for my problems.
