What are 3D and 4D Ultrasounds?
Seven Oaks Women’s Center is dedicated to offering the best in prenatal care for moms across San Antonio, which is why we offer our patients 3D ultrasounds. A 3D ultrasound is similar to a traditional ultrasound in that 3D ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image of your baby in the womb. With advancements in today’s technology, we’re now able to offer a 3-dimensional picture of your baby and your baby’s face. 3D ultrasounds are also able to detect select birth defects such as cleft palate, that might not be able to be detected using traditional ultrasound equipment.
Seven Oaks Women’s Center also offers four-dimensional viewings of your baby. 4D ultrasounds allow us to take an ultrasound of your new baby by viewing the 3D images in motion, thus rendering 4D imaging. This is an exciting way to watch your new baby before he/she arrives!
